I came across Jair Lanes website after checking out a fantastic ESPN Olympics ad campaign. First I have to say unrelated to Jairs work it’s a painful little website. It still tries to pop up in a new window. On top of that with all the cool animations it’s quite slow for today’s short attention span web user. Other than that quite attractive design.
Jair work is kind cool mix of commercial still life and lifestyle. It has a nice human feel to it. It somehow feels quite calm and peaceful. It really is fantastic.
There is a lot of personal work there. It’s all quite graphic and out of focus. I say turn the auto focus on. If it’s not a photo image you can always do better graphic in Illustrator or something like that. Make photos(love) not blur(war)!

His contrast is good. The blurry ones I don’t like. I know it was intentional to present them that way. It somehow still seems to be a defective picture.

Great human portraiture. Love the implied depth of personality. The first one has beauty and contrast, however it seems the man is too much of a superimposed figure much as a paper doll place in the wrong picture by a child.

His juxtapositioning of one person against second point of interest whether tree or second person is quite impressive. The out of focus technique is not to my taste but some will like it. Useless for advertising purpose of course.

I’m pretty sure if I understood more about photographic skills I’d appreciate this work. It just doesn’t appeal to me (no special reason).
Nice pretty girls but why take a picture of a piece of bread. Dumb. I dont like the one of messy kids either.
